God the Holy Spirit
God wants to give you a personal guide. The Holy Spirit is described as One who will help you stay strong in your faith and make the best decisions for your life. Jesus told His disciples, “when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13, NKJV).
Have you ever wanted to find someone to tell you the best way to live? Would you like to have a mentor to guide you through life’s important choices?
Isaiah talks about the guidance of the Holy Spirit. “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21, ESV)
THE HOLY SPIRIT WORKS THROUGH YOUR CONSCIENCE.
Your conscience is the part of your mind that helps you to decide what the right choice would be. The Holy Spirit will guide us in the right path, if we will open our heart to His guidance. As we grow in Christian belief, the Holy Spirit will lead us into “all truth” (John 16:13, NKJV).
Jesus promised His disciples that the Holy Spirit would help them witness for Him. “When they arrest you,” Jesus said, “do not worry. … it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit” (Mark 13:11, NKJV).
THE HOLY SPIRIT WORKS THROUGH OUR PRAYERS.
As we ask God for help, the Holy Spirit works with us to understand God’s will for us. “We do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us” (Romans 8:26, NKJV).
THE HOLY SPIRIT ALSO WORKS IN OUR MINDS AS WE READ THE BIBLE.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,” writes King David (Psalms 119:105, NKJV). As we study Bible doctrine, the Holy Spirit will impress our minds and show us the right path.
When we give our life to God, we invite the Holy Spirit to guide us. In his letter to the church at Corinth, Paul wrote about our body being a temple. “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20, NKJV).
THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL PREPARE US FOR HEAVEN.
As we open our hearts to His guidance, we will experience spiritual growth. The Bible tells us, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22, 23, NKJV). These qualities will make us a light in our community. We will have joy in our lives as we accept the Holy Spirit’s leading. The Holy Spirit’s ministry shows us God’s love. When writing to the Roman church, Paul said, “The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5, NKJV).
